    Description

    Here we have an
Antique WEISS, LONDON, Brass & Bone, Enema Medical Kit in Original Mahogany Box.
John Weiss & Son were London-based surgical instrument makers during the 1700s and 1800s. The company was founded in 1787 by John Weiss, an Austrian, whose skill as master cutler and instrument maker were soon widely acknowledged.  'WEISS LONDON' is stamped on the valve and also on the side of the brass pump along with his address.  There is also a very small label inside the box.  I'm not sure all the correct pieces are there so please take a close look.  What makes this kit extra special is the use of bone for the pump handle and the insertion tip.  Given the age of this instrument the tubing has loss its flexibility and I cannot pull up the pump handle (the piston seal is probably stuck to the inside wall.)  There is one short crack at the base of the bone knob.   The instrument come stored in a
    BEAUTIFUL polished 'flame' Mahogany box
.  The box has two good hinges.  No key.  No cracks in the box.  Box is approx. 9-1/2" L x 5" W x 1-5/8" H.
