Drive Wheel
is specially made to meet a growing demand for a direct motor drive wheel mount. It is believed that this type of mounting is the best solution recommended by those who have built their own belt sanders.
Precision machined aluminum,
5" OD, 2-3/8“ Wide and doomed (for improved tracking). The tapered bore matches Type “H” Split Taper Bushing.
Each wheel comes with one “H-type” split taper bushing
in 3 major sizes, that is 5/8”, 3/4” and 7/8”.

The advantages of using this wheel in comparison to a standard drive wheel mount:
The ability to obtain a higher range of belt surface speed
Taper mount is a lot more secure than standard key and set screw system. Solid drive wheel with its big mass often gets loose and shifts sideways.Tapered wheel bore allows the use of various motors (including those with metric shafts), because taper bushings are popular and come in many bore sizes
Lighter wheel mass means less starting power that often causes circuit break fuses to blow. Also a better machine balance.
Probably the most advantage comes from the fact that this wheel is protruding 3-1/2" from the face of the motor, still being fully inserted on the motor shaft.This is something that many builders have had the biggest problem while assembling their machines, virtually being unable to make such assembly when using standard drive wheel.

I thought you should know that similar size pulleys made by Dodge (Baldor), TB Woods, Lovejoy and other European or Japanese makers are priced between 0-310 a piece if you are lucky to find one offered for sale.
